Switching
Switching From A Legacy Terminal
A standalone terminal takes payments and tells you nothing. Everything else — what sold, who bought it, what's left on the shelf — you're tracking by hand or not at all.
Switching
How the switch runs
What you gain
Item-level sales, inventory, customers, staff tracking and real reporting.
What stays similar
Taking a card is still a tap. Staff adapt quickly.
Setup work
Building your item catalog is the main effort.
Leases
Check whether your terminal is leased and what the term is.
Cost
Compare your current all-in fees to a modern platform's.
Timeline
Often a week or two, mostly catalog building.
01
The reporting is the point
A terminal tells you a total. A POS tells you which items made that total, which hours were busiest, which employee ran the most voids and what to reorder. That's the difference in decision-making.
02
Check for a lease before anything else
Old terminals are often on multi-year leases that outlive the equipment's usefulness. Find the agreement, check the end date, and know your position before you commit to anything new.
- Is it leased or owned?
- Lease end date and buyout
- Auto-renewal language
- Notice period required
03
Building the catalog is the work
You'll need your items and prices in the system. For a small menu that's an afternoon. For a large store it's a project. We help either way, and it's a one-time cost for permanent visibility.
04
Staff pick it up faster than you expect
Modern POS interfaces are closer to a phone than to an old terminal. Training is usually a shift, not a week.
What you get
Equipment at no cost, free setup, no long-term contract.
Every business we set up gets the same thing: the hardware they need at no cost to them, the configuration and training done for you, and a real person to call afterward — without being locked into a multi-year agreement.
01
No long-term contract required
Flexible month-to-month terms are available on both platforms. You stay because the system works, not because a three-year agreement says you have to.
02
Equipment at no cost to you
Terminals, stations, printers and readers provided at no cost while you process with us. The equipment stays ours — if you ever move to another provider, you simply send it back.
03
Free setup, on site or remote
Catalog and menu build, modifiers, hardware placement, permissions, reports and hands-on staff training. Included, not billed hourly.
04
Ongoing support with no hidden fees
A direct line to the person who configured your system. Menu changes, new hardware, new staff, a report that stopped making sense — no support tier to buy.
How the equipment works
To be straight with you: the equipment isn't a giveaway. We provide the hardware your business needs at no cost to you while you process with us, and it stays ours — if you ever decide to move to a different provider, you simply return it. We look at every business we work with as a partner, and we're invested in your success, not in locking you into a box you paid for. And yes, if you want your rates compared side by side with what you pay today, we'll do that too.
FAQ
Questions we get
Is a POS more expensive than my terminal?
There's usually a monthly software cost, and often the processing is competitive. We compare total cost against your current statement before you decide.
What if I'm mid-lease?
We'll look at the agreement with you. Sometimes waiting is right; sometimes the operational gain justifies moving sooner.
Do I have to enter every item?
For useful reporting, yes. We help with bulk import and can start with your top sellers.
