Switching
Switching POS Systems
Changing POS is not risky because of the technology. It's risky because people rush it, switch during their busiest week, and skip the training.
Switching
How the switch runs
Timeline
Two to four weeks from decision to go-live for most businesses.
Data
Items, customers and gift card balances — decide what moves and what doesn't.
Contract
Check your current term and notice period before you commit.
Hardware
Assume it doesn't transfer. Plan and budget for new devices.
Training
Train before go-live, on your real catalog, not a demo.
Go-live
Pick your slowest day and have support on hand.
01
Before you sign anything
Read your current agreement. Term end date, notice period, early termination, and whether you own or lease your hardware. Knowing these changes the timing of the switch and sometimes the decision.
- Contract end date and notice window
- Early termination cost
- Hardware ownership or lease
- Who holds your gift card liability
02
What data actually needs to move
Item catalog and customers usually. Gift card balances need a specific plan. Years of transaction history typically stays in the old system — export it and keep the file rather than trying to import it.
03
Train before, not during
Run a training session on the configured system with your real menu before go-live day. Everyone rings up ten practice transactions. That single hour prevents most launch-day problems.
04
Go live on a Tuesday morning
Never on a Friday, never before a holiday, never during your busy season. Slowest day, full staffing, and a person available to answer questions all day.
What you get
Equipment at no cost, free setup, no long-term contract.
Every business we set up gets the same thing: the hardware they need at no cost to them, the configuration and training done for you, and a real person to call afterward — without being locked into a multi-year agreement.
01
No long-term contract required
Flexible month-to-month terms are available on both platforms. You stay because the system works, not because a three-year agreement says you have to.
02
Equipment at no cost to you
Terminals, stations, printers and readers provided at no cost while you process with us. The equipment stays ours — if you ever move to another provider, you simply send it back.
03
Free setup, on site or remote
Catalog and menu build, modifiers, hardware placement, permissions, reports and hands-on staff training. Included, not billed hourly.
04
Ongoing support with no hidden fees
A direct line to the person who configured your system. Menu changes, new hardware, new staff, a report that stopped making sense — no support tier to buy.
How the equipment works
To be straight with you: the equipment isn't a giveaway. We provide the hardware your business needs at no cost to you while you process with us, and it stays ours — if you ever decide to move to a different provider, you simply return it. We look at every business we work with as a partner, and we're invested in your success, not in locking you into a box you paid for. And yes, if you want your rates compared side by side with what you pay today, we'll do that too.
FAQ
Questions we get
Will I lose sales history?
You keep it in the old system. Export reports before you close the account — that's the part people forget.
How long is the changeover?
Usually a couple of weeks of prep and a single day of switchover. Large menus take longer to build.
Can I run both for a while?
Briefly, for a parallel test. Running both for weeks creates reconciliation problems.
What about my gift cards?
Either migrate balances if supported, or honor old cards manually during a transition window. We plan this before the switch, not after.
