Switching From Lightspeed
Most businesses leaving Lightspeed are paying for depth they never use, or want a simpler day-to-day for staff. The catalog is the main piece of work.
Switching
How the switch runs
Catalog size
Lightspeed catalogs are usually large. Cleanup before import is essential.
Vendors & costs
Cost and vendor data should come across — plan for it.
Serialized items
If you track serials, confirm the new platform's approach first.
Purchase orders
Close open POs before the cutover.
Hardware
Assume new hardware.
Reports
Export historical reports before closing the account.
01
Audit before you migrate
Most Lightspeed catalogs have years of dead SKUs. Importing them wholesale carries the mess forward. Pull a sell-through report and leave behind anything that hasn't moved in a year.
- Drop SKUs with no sales in 12 months
- Standardize naming and categories
- Verify barcodes and costs
- Confirm vendor list is current
02
Be honest about what depth you actually used
If you genuinely relied on serialized tracking or complex purchasing, we'll tell you whether the new platform covers it. If you didn't, simplifying is the point of the move.
03
Close the loop on open orders
Receive or cancel open purchase orders before cutover. Straddling two systems with in-flight POs creates counts nobody can reconcile.
04
What we handle
Catalog audit and cleanup, import, hardware, reporting setup and training your team on the simpler workflow.
What you get
Equipment at no cost, free setup, no long-term contract.
Every business we set up gets the same thing: the hardware they need at no cost to them, the configuration and training done for you, and a real person to call afterward — without being locked into a multi-year agreement.
01
No long-term contract required
Flexible month-to-month terms are available on both platforms. You stay because the system works, not because a three-year agreement says you have to.
02
Equipment at no cost to you
Terminals, stations, printers and readers provided at no cost while you process with us. The equipment stays ours — if you ever move to another provider, you simply send it back.
03
Free setup, on site or remote
Catalog and menu build, modifiers, hardware placement, permissions, reports and hands-on staff training. Included, not billed hourly.
04
Ongoing support with no hidden fees
A direct line to the person who configured your system. Menu changes, new hardware, new staff, a report that stopped making sense — no support tier to buy.
How the equipment works
To be straight with you: the equipment isn't a giveaway. We provide the hardware your business needs at no cost to you while you process with us, and it stays ours — if you ever decide to move to a different provider, you simply return it. We look at every business we work with as a partner, and we're invested in your success, not in locking you into a box you paid for. And yes, if you want your rates compared side by side with what you pay today, we'll do that too.
FAQ
Questions we get
Will I lose inventory history?
Historical reporting stays in Lightspeed. Export what you need before closing the account.
Can I keep my barcodes?
Yes, barcodes carry over in the export and keep your existing labels valid.
Is the new system less capable?
On deep inventory tooling, possibly. That's the trade you're making, and we'll be clear about it before you commit.
